A Partnership in Art - Love For Artspace

Early in the birth of Julie, Monster, the production team need rehearsal space.  Obviously with any new production, the budget was tight…and at the same time we had 18 cast members and a handful of instrumentalists to accommodate.

Phone call after phone call to other venues didn’t pan out for us until Artspace came to the rescue!  Thank you, Dana Frostick, Executive Director, Alice Anne Ellis, current President of the Board and Lisa Lezell Levine, Vice President of Membership!

We couldn’t have asked for better partners.

The keyword used over and over was COLLABORATION.

We got inspiration from their new space, they heard the show from its infancy building our team step by step.

As documented in their website, Artspace has been a staple of the art scene in Richmond since 1988 when it began as “an association of artists interested in exhibiting their work and providing a space for other artists to reach a wider audience.”  Sounds like the Julie, Monster team!

With their new location, they hope to meet the needs of engaging a wider world of artists in their neighborhood near Hathaway Towers.  They hope to bring new exhibits and classes to this vibrant and engaged community!

Check them out on December 12th from 2pm - 6pm for their Think Small Show and Artspace Member show!  We’d love to have the folks who love Julie give some love to Artspace.
